DIRECTIONS
Pickering Wharf Marina is located right downtown on the waterfront, near the intersection of Derby and Congress Streets. There is parking in the Pickering Wharf complex as well as metered parking on the street and a municipal garage at the intersection of Derby & Congress.
View Larger Map WEATHER New England weather forecasts are not entirely reliable, so we don't usually cancel trips based solely on the forecast. The captain decides whether or not to sail very close to departure time. Thunderstorms, thick fog, steady rain, and/or winds in excess of 25 knots may cause a trip to be canceled. WHAT TO BRING It's cooler out on the water, so bring a sweatshirt or windbreaker. High heels or dress shoes will be uncomfortable and potentially unsafe — we recommend sneakers, sandals, or boat shoes. Cameras, sunglasses and sunscreen are also good ideas. Snacks ($1), water and soda ($2), and beer and wine ($5) are sold on board, and passengers are welcome to bring their own food and soft drinks. However, coolers and alcoholic beverages may NOT be brought aboard. There is a restroom on board. It is below decks, accessed by descending a short ladder, so persons with limited mobility may wish to do their business ashore before coming aboard. SEASICKNESS Seasickness is rarely a problem on beamy schooners like FAME operating in protected waters close to shore. Nobody has ever gotten sick during one of our Salem Sound cruises. However, those prone to motion sickness may wish to take some Dramamine half an hour before sailing. COUPONS & VOUCHERS Once or twice a year we offer special rates online. Bring your voucher to our ticket booth on the day you wish to sail and exchange it for a ticket. We do not accept advance reservations. On weekends we advise getting to the ticket booth early. The booth generally opens one hour before the first sail. Please note that once a coupon or voucher reaches its expiration date, it loses its promotional value. However, you can still redeem it at the price you paid for seven years from the issuing date, as provided by Massachusetts law. For example, an unused 2012 Groupon can be used, along with $12 cash, to purchase a ticket which would otherwise cost $30. You cannot get cash for your unused coupons or vouchers, nor can you combine them with any other offers. If you have any questions about this, please refer to the FAQs on the site where you purchased your coupon. |
